Did you see it? I caught a glimpse of it resting for the night over at one of the Marriott Hotels. Did someone take the infamous oath and has the opportunity to drive it around communities as a Wiener Ambassador. Or do we have our very own American Idol stars here vying for a chance at stardom by Singing The Jingle.

This article was written by a fellow Affordable Housing Committee member Judy Thompson of Mackintosh Realtors on Patrick Street. If you have question you can contact here at 301-662-0155. Judy writes most (if not all) of our article that are placed in the Frederick News Post and the Gazette.
In its June meeting, the Affordable Housing Committee awarded $15,000 to three applicants for closing cost/down payment assistance. Each applicant received a deferred loan of $5,000. At the July meeting, history repeated with two applicants receiving a total of $10,000
Applicants must be 18 or older, must meet all first mortgage guidelines, must contribute at least $500 of their own money, must occupy property as a primary residence, must own no other property, and must meet income limit restrictions. The properties purchased must be within Frederick County, must be owner-occupied and cannot be rented or used for business purposes and must pass a home inspection by a certified home inspector.
Monies used to date have come via grants from The Partnership for Housing and the Board of County Commissioners. The Committee will be seeking corporate sponsorships as well.
We are hopeful that one or more of the recipients will agree to write a column in the future so that you can get to know them. These folks are contributing members of Frederick County’s Workforce.
