Middletown Fire on Knoll Side Middletown Fire in Brookridge

This time the firefighters were there in time to knock it down before it burned to the ground.  This home sits in the Brookridge Estate neighborhood on Knoll Side Lane on the west side of Middletown.  I heard the firetrucks fly down Alternate 40 about 4:45.  Word on the street was that everyone made it out alright.  It looked like everything was contained to the roof and upper floor.   I will post more information as it becomes available.

This would be a very good time check the batteries in your smoke detectors.   It wouldn’t hurt to set up a fire action plan.  Can you get out of your house if there was a fire?  Stop by the Goverment Fire Website for more information.

Two Young Boys Admit to Arson in Middletown, now what?

Now the water cooler question of the day… What do you think the punishment should be?  I really feel for the parents.  I don’t know who the kids are nor do I know the families.  I am sure they have a lot to deal with lately.  But my thoughts, what do you do when you kid comes home and tells you they did something terribly wrong?   I just burned down two brand new houses in Glen Brook

When I was young, I feared my Dad.  That was enough to keep me on the straight and narrow.  Of course, I did some off the wall things.  When I got caught, there was no punishment more severe that a butt whooping.   Of course this is completely unacceptable in today’s society.  So, do you put them in time out for 12 minutes?  What’s your thoughts?  Use the poll or comments to state your point of view.

I don’t have all the details but from what I could see was two homes gone on Wagon Shed.  There were fire trucks from every adjoining community and then some.  Urbana, Fort Detrick, Boonsboro, Brunswick, Carroll Manor, Walkersville, Lovettsville and Fairplay were only a few that I noticed that came to support our local fire departments of Middletown and Braddock Heights.   I didn’t see any medical personnel working on anyone (thank God).   Here are pictures from the time I arrived.

Update: Two boys arrested last night. (11 and 12 years old)
