BTW, the homes the Shelter guy was standing in front of were pretty new $200-250K homes. I just can't fathom locking up a home leaving a dog or cat inside to die rather than taking it to the shelter. I think a campaign needs to be started to have people check on their neighborhood for vacant homes. That is really sad...thanks for sharing. We are about to implement the "Wagging P.A.L.S. (Pets Adopt Loving Seniors)" program which pairs at risk shelter animals with seniors living alone in our community. If they are on a fixed income we will help subsidize the care and feeding. We are currently seeking donations to get this program under way. If anyone is interested pls. contact gabe@wagsforhope.org.
