I will be if mine makes it through)... but buyer assistance programs helped get us into the housing bubble mess. In many cases home owners / developers simply raised their prices enough to cover the amount they were going to funnel back to the perspective buyer whiched help create an enviroments where home values shot out of the realm of realistic and into the infalted messed we are dealing with now. Should certain buyers have access to extra help? Sure... but should the SELLER be the one to step in? Hardly. Its a conflict of interest.
