Wait, isn’t it “Move that Bus?”  No, we aren’t watching the Extreme Makeover.  These guys are serious.  They are actually moving this house.  Not only are they going to move one…they are going to move another.  As part of Illiano Properties new plaza going in behind Bank of America in Mt Airy, they are shifting around a couple houses.  This was the first I had seen this, so obviously more pictures will come as they actually move the house.  I keep my eye on it.

A whole street of houses was moved a couple years ago for construction of a new interstate exit. Pretty wild to see, isn’t it? New interchange opened recently, and more homes are being built on the new street.

  2. Hey! Somebody stole my house!

Lucky you on a server that didn’t crash.

  3. Ooooh! A big mobile home!

Sarah, That is neat. I am sure it is slow as molasses to watch, but neat.

Chris, You can claim it at the lost and found area.

Jack, Wonder where the wheels are?

  5. Expensive mobile home–has retractable wheels for when parked. It is quite obviously parked. ;-)

I forgot the math first time around :-(
We had a house for sale in Toledo Ohio last year for (I think) a dollar; only thing is you had to move it. Moving houses and digging out basements seem remarkable to me. Cool photo!

  7. I just want an educated guess from anyone who knows anything about house moving. It is a 1800 sq ft house (new) and would need to be moved about 20 miles away.
