Relocating to Frederick? Take a look around
What is one to say about this town? Frederick, MD has so much going on for an old historic town. It’s in the final phases of the Carroll Creek Project. This is has been driving growth and housing prices in this area. The idea is to create a beautiful area that people can live, work and shop all in one place. The town used to be the second largest city in Maryland, but now has to settle with the title of fourth largest. The city had a need to further encourage growth and has employed the talents of a video production company. Take a look at the video for yourself. Drive through town and take in some of it’s charm.
What’s there to do around town?
A wide variety of entertainment pleasures grace this town from plays at the Weinberg Center or The Maryland Ensemble, out door concerts and sporting events. You can take in a Broadway play at the Weinberg Center. If you choose to be out doors, you can venture through many city parks or just a casual stroll down Carroll Creek. (While you are there stop by the Library and pick up a good book.) If you need something a little more action packed take in game over at Harry Grove stadium and watch the Frederick Keys.

What’s happening with the Condos in Frederick now
You remember my post about the condos from last month. Well, it’s a new year and there has been some major drops in the over inventory. I wanted to see the impact it had on the condos. Frederick County dropped 200 homes from last month according to my tracking. As of today, there are active 1840 homes on the MRIS MLS today. (1/7/08)

There was a drop of 16 condos in the active column (about a 10% drop.) But they didn’t convert to sales or contracts. The sales were relatively the same. The listing either expired or they decided to withdraw from the market. The market overall on New Years day seen a 10% drop in inventory. I am guessing the listings all expired on 12/31/07.
There has been little or no movement in the pricing. The biggest drop has been at the Jefferson Chase Condos. They lowered the high-end. The new Condos out at Old Farm Station and Riverview II are still the fasted movers right now. Springridge is not too far behind. My guess is the prices is key for Old Farm Station while Brand New is a key selling point for Riverview II
Friday are for Friends
Last night I worked on my Social Network plan for 2008, one of the many parts of a business plan. Used to be what brick and mortar activities are you going to improve over last year to make more money this year, then you added a person improvement plan, a marketing plan, and on and on…Yep here in 2008 you need to have a Social Network plan. Oh well…today is for fun…It is Friday. Since I didn’t have a local foto lined up for today, I am going to share some link love for all of my “virtual” real friends.
First post I wake up too...thank God I wasn’t drinking anything was from “T” for Friends? Then I usually wonder over to Danger Bay to see what Boomer is serving up. After reading and laughing there I head over to Chris’s place to read the last 16 post she put up since yesterday. That woman knocks out post about Bonita Springs like there is no tomorrow. Today is about a virtual post office in Bonita Springs Florida. Linda of Eastern CT like to do photos on Friday, today she is showing off one of her reader’s Christmas Tree. (It’s all about networking and meeting people). Sarah is trying to get YouTube to work on RES flyers. Make sure I stop by to get a quick look at what Toolboy Turner has cooking on Technosanity. These are only a few that I glance over I will open up my Google reader soon for everyone to read.
I usually take a glance at my ActiveRain Subscriptions and comb for a couple good ones…ones with out the whine. This one excites me because he’s a good guy and I am sure he will do well for the community.
Now I am out of time and have to head into the office.
Have a great day.
