It’s a new year and we have the changing of the guard going on at the Frederick County Associations of REALTORS® last month, incomes Larry, out goes Terry. Over at the Cultural Diversity Committee, we have some changing going on too. We have focused on raising fair housing awareness in the past and will continue our mission. One of our biggest past projects has been the Annual Fair Housing calendar contest for MAR. We reach out to the local schools and have them show off their artistic skills. The children have great open minds and wonderful ability to display it with crayons, pastels and paint. This project still continues and we ask you to get your children involved. Entry forms can be picked up at the FCAR office. Another annual project is the Fair Housing Conference with the City of Frederick’s Fair Housing Commission. We will continue next year with these events.
We have decided to add a new project to our portfolio. We are in the process of fine tuning “Project Access”. Not only does fair housing have to do with the color of your skin, religion (et al), but your ability to get in the house. We thought it would be nice to get our hands dirty this year. We want to identify a Frederick County Resident that needs help gaining access to their home. We know it can be physically and financially challenging to gain access to their home.
The project is in it infancy, but we have big plans on making “Project Access” a success for FCAR and Frederick County. If you want to be a part of our committee, we are always looking for members. Your contribution is always welcomed. Here’s to another year rewarding year. Hope you are a part of it.
We are always looking for sponsors for our next project. Please contact our FCAR office for more details. 301-663-0757.
Thank you.
Disclaimer; FCAR is a “Not For Profit” Organization. Your wonderful donations are not tax deductible, but will go directly to the project identified by our committee.

I love this idea, get the kids involved early, just like McDonalds did.
