Annapolis Rocks Appalachian Trail

This picture was taken this weekend on Annapolis Rocks off the Appalachian Trail. If you haven’t walked up there lately or at all…Take Oxygen!!! The walk up was a little trying on my slender physique. You park at the entrance to the Appalachian trail off Route 40 at the border of Frederick and Washington County. We walked up after dinner and enjoyed a pretty spectacular views of the fall foliage and finished up with a gorgeous sunset. You can see more photos in my Flickr Photostream.

The walk took a little more than an hour to get up there and about 45 minutes to get back down. Take plenty of fluids and a flash light. The trail is well groomed, but pretty treacherous on the ankles due to all the big loose rocks.

Have a great weekend.

How awesome is that! btw, your site is looking sweeeet – I really like the wider format, wish I could do that with mine.

Thanks Ines. I am digging the new site. I have more freedom with it.

I am not done tweaking it. I need to figure on how to add some color to it.

    Linda…yeah, that’s me, Macho Bob. ;)

Unfortunately the colors aren’t that spectacular due to a dry this summer.

    Palm trees don’t change?

  6. Watch out for those rocks, we lose more people who slide off here in Colorado.
    It’s not a pretty sight!

That looks like a tough but very rewarding climb. I’m from the UK and go walking in the Lake District a lot but this looks lovely. I would love to visit the US for a walking holiday some day.

    Lovely photos,
    Chris
