I don’t have all the details but from what I could see was two homes gone on Wagon Shed.  There were fire trucks from every adjoining community and then some.  Urbana, Fort Detrick, Boonsboro, Brunswick, Carroll Manor, Walkersville, Lovettsville and Fairplay were only a few that I noticed that came to support our local fire departments of Middletown and Braddock Heights.   I didn’t see any medical personnel working on anyone (thank God).   Here are pictures from the time I arrived.

Update: Two boys arrested last night. (11 and 12 years old)

  1. Thank goodness the houses were not occupied. When my son was a teenager, he was playing with a lighter and caught our wall hanging on fire. It went up in seconds. A quick neighbor with a fire extinguisher saved the house. It doesn’t take much for someone to die in a fire. My son ran down the stairs and out the front door. If he would have gone up, things could have turned out much differently. Those firefighters earn their pay!

Fire safety is so very important. Fire is such a strong adversary that most people are often defeated, left only with nothing but painful memories. Knowledge and preparation is one’s most effective weapons against fires. Gina
